The Legend & Backstory
Nestled at the foot of a massive, sacred monolithic granite hill, Thiruparankundram is the first of the six abodes. Unlike other abodes, the sanctum sanctorum here is carved out of the rock itself, dating back to ancient Pandya builders. Here, Lord Murugan resides in a glorious wedding posture alongside Deivayanai, representing the divine union of spiritual will (Kriya Shakti) and pure action.
